We believe what we call our "sunroom" was originally an open porch that was enclosed as late as the 1990s. The windows are aluminum-frame, single panes with sliding elements on each side. We recently attempted to clean the windows and found any sealant along the bottoms of them to be gone. As we know we are losing a lot of energy through these large windows, we would prefer to replace them with vinyl framed modern windows, which would match existing vinyl windows previously installed in other parts of the house.
