Scope of work

Project Description (Permit Submittal) This project consists of the construction of a new attached residential wood deck at the rear of an existing single-family residence located at 4005 W 5th Street, Fort Worth, TX. The proposed deck will be approximately 18 feet in width by 8 feet in depth (±144 square feet total), constructed using conventional wood framing methods and supported by a combination of new footings and existing structural elements where applicable. The structure will be attached to the existing residence via a ledger connection in accordance with prescriptive code requirements, including approved fasteners and flashing methods. The deck framing will consist of 2x wood joists at standard spacing, supported by beams and posts anchored to concrete footings designed to meet local load requirements. Decking will consist of 5/4 x 6 treated lumber boards, installed perpendicular to the joists, with a full-conceal trim detail at the perimeter. The finished deck elevation will be approximately 3 inches below the existing door threshold, maintaining proper drainage and code-compliant transition from the residence. The deck will include a 36-inch-high guardrail system where required by code. All construction will comply with applicable City of Fort Worth codes, IRC requirements, and standard residential wood framing practices, including proper lateral bracing, connection hardware, and load-bearing capacity. No plumbing, mechanical, or electrical work is included in this scope.
