Remove and dispose of the existing roofing system down to the roof deck. Inspect the roof decking for deterioration or damage and replace any compromised decking as needed. Install new underlayment, ice and water barrier in required areas, drip edge, flashing, ventilation components, and a complete new roofing system in accordance with the manufacturer's installation specifications and current local building codes. Existing roof profile, rooflines, and architectural features will remain unchanged. The replacement roofing material will be selected to match the existing appearance and maintain the historic character of the home, subject to Historic District design requirements and approval. All existing flashing, pipe boots, ridge vents, and related roofing accessories will be replaced as necessary to provide a complete, watertight roofing system. The project is limited to replacement of the existing roof and does not include structural modifications, changes to the building footprint, roof pitch, or architectural design. All work will be performed in compliance with applicable Historic District guidelines, local building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
